The Audacity of IF and the Probability Theoretical Testicles

IF "Iran gets a bomb"...warns ominously the statement in today's NY T's article...aimed at eliciting images of imminent doom...from an evil nation (evil because it might, when threatened, develop a bomb, as a defensive deterrent) This preposterous exceptionalistic comment exposes the embedded hypocrisy that drives our blind and failed foreign policy.
With the proliferation of the "IF Iran gets the bomb" theme, the article infers that Iran will set an example and consequently other nations will follow...
Let's see...even IF "Iran gets the bomb", I say that it could never possibly set the example;

because IF the xenophobic media wanted to present the facts, it would know that when it comes to "bombs" the US beat Iran to it many years ago! And it was, in fact, the US who set a mighty and devastating example for other Nations!
Obama is right when he exhorts that we will never settle for second place
Way ahead of any other nation the US "got the bomb" AND already used it! Another US first!
Are we afraid that IF "Iran gets the bomb" Iran would be tempted to become like the US and actually use it?

That is certainly plausible but also don't forget  that IF my grandmother had testicles, she would be my grandfather.
